Things Florida Gulf Coast University is famous for:

(from the past to the most recent)

• Former President Merwin having an "inappropriate relationship" with a professor.
• Being the first University in the country to ban KFC for its inhumane treatment of chickens.
• Sexual harassment lawsuits/issues (the most recent)
• The banning (then unbanning) of holiday decorations on campus per current President Bradshaw
• A Busta Rhymes music video(see the last 15 seconds).

Impressive, FGCU.

As a journalism major, I always find myself getting endlessly worked up about nearly everything CNN deems news-worthy. I have always been fascinated about other parts of the world, and I consider myself extremely lucky to be a part of a technologically connected society that allows me to learn about other places with one click from Google.

I always read every single day:
CNN.com, Naplesnews.com, News-Press.com, bbc.co.uk, washingtonpost.com

Of course though, not everyone is as obsessive compulsive about the latest headlines as myself.

What always gets me is I see more facebook statuses shocked by the latest episode of Gossip Girl than any with concern with the casualties of over 200 in Mumbai.

Pick up that iPhone & maybe get the AP Mobile News Network app instead of Bejeweled.

4. Elliott Spitzer Scandal
5. Missing toddler Caylee Anthony
6. Lehman Brothers going bankrupt
7. The US officially in recession [do you know what "recession" REALLY means?]
8. GM & Chrysler bailout
9. The attack in Mumbai
10. 2008 US Presidential election: President-elect Barack Obama(duh).

My advice to you, is if you are clueless on more than a couple: get to work on Google & educate yourself.
